Nokia is considering taking HTC to court as its latest 8X handset may be not coincidentally similar to one of the Finnish manufacturer's products, according to reports.

HTC unveiled its new Windows Phone 8 (WP8) 8X and 8S mobile phones at an event in New York on September 19th.

Nokia apparently believes that the look and feel of the 8X may have been copied from its Lumia 820 smartphone.

The Lumia 920 and 820 WP8 handsets were unveiled on September 5th.

The lower-end 820 features a curved-edge screen and a range of colourful casings, which HTC may have adopted for its flagship device.

Nokia marketing chief Chris Weber apparently noticed the similarities when he tweeted "It takes more than matching color to match the innovation of the Lumia 920 #SwithtoLumia." after the HTC event.

However, it seems that the company may now seek a sales ban in the same way that Apple has with multiple Samsung products as part of a worldwide patent war.
