The latest handset from mobile phone company Nokia, the Lumia 928, has broken the company’s silence as possible images have appeared online.

Pictures of the supposedly thinner and lighter version of the Nokia Lumia 920 appeared online through the Twitter account of @evleaks, who has proved reliable in the past.

The possible press shots show the device to be branded with the Verizon Wireless US network, suggesting it may counter the Nokia Lumia 920, which is exclusively available on rival network AT&T.

It is thought that Nokia’s Lumia 928 will carry a xenon flash to complement the eight mega-pixel Pureview camera, but with the majority of features remain the same as the Lumia 920.

The rumour mill suggests that the handset will be released in April in the States, but its unclear when the device may reach British shores. There’s no word that it will even make it across the pond or to any other country.

However, with it being essentially the same phone as the Lumia 920 just in a different, albeit lighter and thinner, casing would anyone really miss it?
