Nokia is to showcase its new, more affordable, touchscreen X6 16 GB smartphone – which launches on February 24th – through a variety of platforms, it has been revealed.

The handset is intended to be a competitor with Apple’s iPhone and could encourage users to recycle their old mobile phone to raise cash towards the new handset.

As part of the phone‘s launch a campaign will promote it though methods such as print, digital media and TV, Marketing Week stated.

Head of brand at Nokia UK Fiona Bosman told the magazine: "This campaign will really engage our audience and Nokia will be creating lots of exclusive and exciting content throughout the campaign that will really bring each aspect of this brilliant device to life, reminding consumers that the X6 is a must have all round entertainer."

Nokia may be hoping that the X6 will achieve the all round success that the iPhone has managed.
