The upcoming budget-friendly mobile phone from Nokia is due to pop up in the UK within the next few weeks, according to the Finnish firm.

Nokia's Asha 501 will start to roll out in Pakistan and Thailand this week and then gradually make its way around Europe, landing in the UK in "subsequent weeks" but no release confirmation for the US or Canada at the moment.

The Lumia-looking handset will come in a variety of bright colours, including yellow, blue and red, and also offer a two-inch display, 3.2-megapixel camera and a 4GB memory card to boost up the capacity.

It is expected to retail at about £65 when it does eventually arrive in British stores offering 17 hours of talk time and 47 days of battery life.
