Nokia has announced a number of new and exclusive application partnerships at CTIA Wireless 2012 – thus continuing its focus on original experiences for Lumia consumers.

With more than 80,000 apps now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace, the firm's search and discovery features such as App Highlights sort the most relevant apps for Nokia Lumia consumers.

News of Nokia creating specific apps for its own operating system users comes after makers of the hugely successful game Angry Birds said it wouldn't be made available to Windows Phone in March.

Senior vice president of Nokia Developer Experience Marco Argenti said with the Lumia smart mobile phones now available in 48 countries, developers are seeing the benefits of the range.

Executive vice president and chief research officer at IDC Crawford Del Prete added: "With new and exclusive apps launching on a regular basis, and Nokia Lumia rapidly expanding into new markets, Nokia and Microsoft are demonstrating meaningful differentiation for consumers."
