Newly leaked information about the HTC One M8 for Windows 8.1 smartphone suggests that aside from running with the Windows operating system, not much else will change.
The specification, which was acquired by Windows Phone Central, shows that the HTC One M8 for Windows 8.1 is similar to that of the existing HTC One M8 for Android. Users can expect a five-inch full HD Super-AMOLED display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM and 2,600mAh battery.
The HTC One M8 also has a 5MP front camera and a Nano SIM-card slot. Its HTC UltraPixel rear camera is certainly a big attraction, as is the fact that the HTC One M8 will be integrated with Cortana, Microsoft’s personal digital assistant.
It will also work with existing HTC Dot View cases, similar to that of the Android. It will let you see who is calling and give you the option to either answer or decline it without having to open it, Windows Show Central revealed. To answer, simply swipe the case or put it to your ear. The case will also show the date, time, weather and reminders. Cortana can be accessed by swiping down on the case.
HTC Boomsound, which incorporates two front-facing speakers, inclusive of dedicated amplifiers, will also feature for an impressive audio production.
The Taiwan-based company is rumoured to be unveiling the new smartphone at an event in New York on August 19th, with it going on sale as early as August 21st in the United States, exclusively available from Verizon. A release date for the UK has not yet been confirmed.
News of the new HTC One M8 comes at an exciting time for the smartphone industry, with the new iPhone 6 release date rumoured to be in September, as well as the newly announced IOS 8.
