Stock of the 16 GB Nexus 4 mobile phone has been replenished on Google Play, meaning British consumers can now order the SIM-free handset.

Aspirant owners need to place their order quickly, however, as supply of the 8 GB version depleted within hours of re-release.

The smartphone, which is manufactured by LG, has been sold out on the UK website since a short time after it was made available on November 13th.

Buyers who placed their order initially may get the device in time for Christmas, but this new stockpile of units will not ship for five to six weeks.

It has been in high demand – at just £239 for the 8 GB version and £279 for the model with increased internal storage, the price tag is extremely competitive.

The device is powered by the latest Android operating system, Jelly Bean 4.2, and has Near Field Communication (NFC) and wireless charging technologies.
