There are now less than three weeks until some customers receive the new Nokia N8 device, which could persuade some to recycle their used mobile phone.

Asavin Wattanajantra, writing for CNET UK, explains Vodafone will ship the handset to customers who have pre-ordered it on October 22nd.

This could mean thousands of models across the country are soon to be redundant, with mobile recycling one way some may choose to dispose of their phone in a green way.

Such an option also comes with a cash incentive, which could be put towards paying for the first month or two of using the Nokia N8.

The author notes the BlackBerry Torch is another new release this month, offering "lashings of features".

For those who do not fancy signing up to a deal for the N8, this could be an equally-exciting upgrade.

Nokia recently confirmed it had started shipments of its new smartphone around the world.
