Consumers could soon wish to consider mobile recycling as an option in order to get their hands on a new Motorola device.

Motorola has revealed that it plans to release its latest MOTOBLUR handset DEVOUR in March as part of its collaboration with Verizon Wireless.

The device offers a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, meaning that sending messages could be made simpler.

In addition, the handset aims to make social networking an easier process and users will be kept up to date about wall posts, photo updates and statuses.

Pre-loaded applications on the DEVOUR will include Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search and YouTube.

More than 20,000 additional applications are available for download by users via the Android Market.

The mobile phone also has a touch-sensitive navigation pad and a 3.1-inch touch screen.

A recent report from Strategy Analytics found that global smartphone shipments increased 30 per cent year-over-year during the fourth quarter of 2009.
