Fans of music and media may decide now is the right time to recycle their mobile phones for a "fantastic" product that supports their hobby.

The new INQ Chat 3G has been promoted as offering an ideal mobile platform for music, video and pictures.

Its iTunes and Windows Media Player applications are synced for both PCs and Macs, allowing for what the manufacturer claims is a seamless crossover between the phone and home equipment.

Chief executive officer of INQ Frank Meehan noted these extra media features coupled with an accessible price could be what consumers have been waiting for.

"We’ve looking at what a lot of consumers want and haven’t been getting so far from mobile manufacturers – a well priced device built around the internet that does more than voice and text," he explained.

Because the INQ Chat 3G also supports the simultaneous running of networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Windows Live Messenger, those who see their mobile phones as a tool for socialising could find their needs are met.

Another recently released offer from 3Stores – the LG GW520 – has also been marketed as being designed for chat-happy users.

Called the "perfect phone for messaging addicts", this product has both a qwerty keyboard and touch screen.
