Those looking to recycle a used mobile phone to upgrade to the Apple iPhone 3G may be interested in a new article for the Trusted Reviews website.

In a piece by Stuart Andrews, the manufacturer behind the device is derided for notoriously supplying all of its handsets and music players with headphones that are below par.

He notes the standard earbuds that come with the iPhone and iPod are “awful”, but adds the firm has gone some way towards fixing this problem with the launch of some new ones.

Although it is unlikely Apple will supply the new dual-driver buds with all future devices, for £54 buyers can get some well-built headphones that incorporate an microphone, in-line remote and sound quality capable of giving a number of the firm’s competitors something to worry about.

“They are the first to give the likes of Sennheiser or Shure a run for their money,” the review concludes. “Good sound, good design and a good bundle.”

A number of new 24-month contracts for the iPhone were announced last week by O2.
