Rumours have once again been sparked that Motorola could be preparing a phablet-sized smartphone.

It was back in October (2013) that we first heard rumours that the then Google-owned company was preparing a super-sized handset. The device, known as the Motorola Xplay, has surfaced once more, thanks to the Weibo forum.

A commenter on the online board said that the Motorola's phablet would arrive in the second half of this year, sometime between July and September. However, the tipster didn't give any details about the possible name or size of the device.

This could mean that details such as the size or name of the phone may have changed from the 6.3-inch Motorola Xplay that was rumoured last year.

It is a slight surprise that Motorola is planning the same devices that it had planned in the Google era, now that it is owned by Lenovo as many thought there would be a change in its strategy once it was sold.
