The new Motorola Xoom may tempt those who would like to join the tablet revolution into trading in their mobile phones.

Stuart Dredge, writing for CNET UK, said the device has been tipped by many experts to restrain the growth of the iPad 2 and “take a bite” out of what is sure to be a considerable sales figure.

He noted the latest tweet from Motorola confirmed the tablet will have a range of enhancements in place prior to its UK launch in order to support Adobe Flash Player 10.2.

“It’s good news for Brits who are itching to get the Xoom when it goes on sale here,” stated Mr Dredge, adding the technology is sure to be available once the handset goes on sale.

Michael Holt of Morningstar told Reuters recently that the Motorola product – along with Apple’s iPad 2 and the BlackBerry PlayBook – will be responsible for a significant rise in tablet sales this year.
