According to the manufacturer, the former Manchester United and current AC Milan player reflects the kind of qualities users can expect to find in its new Aura handset.
The comments follow the launch of a new campaign by the company, in which Mr Beckham can be seen holding the new device as what looks like an x-ray of his internal organs and bones are highlighted.
Motorola explained: "The image expresses how inner power and precision drives outward beauty and a finely sculpted form – similar to the design of Aura and Beckham himself."
Beckham himself has given his backing to the Motorola Aura, saying holding the device feels "like you have something really special in your hand".
The video and accompanying photo was shot by music video director Anthony Mandler – who has previously worked with artists including The Killers and Beyonce.
