Users of the Motorola DROID – also known the Milestone – could soon be able to take advantage of the benefits of the latest operating system, if recent suggestions are anything to go by.

A post made by the mobile operator on its Facebook page for Europe yesterday (March 29th) revealed that Android 2.1 will be made available within the next few weeks.

Motorola suggested that users might want to check back soon to hear further announcements including nine home screens, wallpapers and added security features for those that require them.

It said: “We are delighted to say that the European roll-out of our 2.1 upgrade began today in France and will roll out across Germany, Italy and the UK between now and mid-April as testing and approvals are completed.”

Selling an old mobile phone with Mazuma could provide people with the cash that they need to put towards an upgrade of their existing handset.
