Mobile phone holiday bookings are the next step in innovation for the travel industry, according to one business solutions provider.
Mark Fallon, BlueSky’s managing director, stated that online booking experiences are already improving for consumers and predicted that mobile phones are set to continue the trend.
“People [are] going to be able to access their bookings via mobile devices and that is where the leading innovation is going to go,” he remarked.
According to recent research from greenbee.com, eight per cent of people spend eight hours or more online checking out travel reviews related to the destinations they are planning to travel to.
Saving money appears to be an even great priority, with approximately 14 per cent of holidaymakers devoting an entire day to looking up prices for accommodation and flights.
Furthermore, twice as many people will spend a whole day searching for the best holiday deal as opposed to the best destination, the research showed.
