Users of the latest mobile devices – such as Android models as well as Apple’s iPhone and iPad – can now access more of their files on the go.

Google has revealed, via its Mobile Blog, that PDFs and .doc and .ppt files are able to be opened and navigated through the models.

Documents that have previously been uploaded to a device will not have to go through the same process and can be viewed with technology that lets users zoom in and out.

The search engine provider is asking mobile phone consumers to visit and try out the new feature, with the facility to offer feedback and suggestions open.

Among those to benefit most from the development may be those who use their Android phone, iPhone or iPad for work, with vital files now able to be viewed from any location.

It could trigger a further rise in sales of such devices, on top of the three million iPads Apple has already sold in less than three months since their release.
