Mobile phone users could be tempted to purchase a new Apple iPhone, following the release of its fourth operating system (OS).

A beta version of the iPhone OS 4 has been released and users might find that it allows them to use their phone in a more simple and efficient manner.

"The fact that the Apple app store is already a huge success ahead of anyone else means it will only add further strength to making the iPhone the number one handset choice for many consumers," said James Zielinski co-founder of

Due to the overall package offered by the iPhone it is an "impossible challenge" for the Blackberry Bold 9700, HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson Vivaz or Nokia N900 to steal the crown, he added.

British families are now more likely to speak via technology rather than have a face-to-face conversation, a recent study by Flip Video has suggested.
