Mobile phone users looking to trade-in their current device may have the perfect replacement coming their way next week, if recent reports are anything to go by.

Asavin Wattanajantra, writing for CNET UK, says various sources have suggested the arrival of the Google Nexus Two, made by Samsung, is imminent.

The author also asserts it is likely that the device will be sold exclusively through Carphone Warehouse.

It would be seen as a follow-up to the popular Google Nexus One that launched last year and was the first mobile to run on the Android 2.1 operating system, Mr Wattanajantra states.

He adds the new model carries more than a hint of the Samsung Galaxy S about it, with shared features including the basic appearance.

Samsung has also recently released the Omnia 7 handset, one of the initial five models to use the brand new Windows Phone 7 operating system that could be a rival of Android and the iPhone.
