People who trade-in a mobile and switch to a phone from LG that runs on the Windows Phone 7 operating system will be able to benefit from ten free apps every two months.

Asavin Wattanajantra, writing for CNET UK, explains the offer made by the new platform, which could be a bid to get customers of its latest devices on board.

He explains the features will be worth in excess of $30 (£18) and will change every 60 days or so.

Those who have already invested in a relevant device will find the first ten apps are now available, including Look n Type – a function that allows simultaneous texting and camera use.

Mr Wattanajantra says the tools sound like they are a lot of “fun” and may enhance the user experience.

Windows Phone 7 was released on five handsets last month as a rival to established operating systems such as iPhone and Android.
