Selling used phones and investing the money raised in a deal with one of the leading providers of mobile broadband may be a shrewd move by those who like to get online as much as possible.
New research by BroadbandGenie shows Three Mobile was the most popular supplier of internet to mobile consumers in 2010, after achieving greater sales figures than all of its rivals.
It finished the year ahead of Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 and Orange in the race to be Britain's best.
Commenting on the result, David Kerrigan, head of Three Mobile Broadband, says: "It's testament to the investment we have made in our 3G network, which now covers 97.3 per cent of the UK population and our YouGov accolade as the number one network for mobile broadband."
Indeed, Three has been named as the winner of the last two YouGov polls to find the country's top provider of mobile internet, with its cost, efficiency and quality all praised.
