The new Microsoft Kin mobile phones will prove popular with young people, it has been suggested.

Microsoft’s Kin One and Kin Two handsets were designed with social networking in mind meaning that regular users of sites such as Facebook and Myspace could find them ideal.

The home screen of the device – the KIN Loop – is always on and promises to keep users up to date with alll the things happening in their social world.

"Social networking is extremely popular and so designing mobiles that put the likes of Facebook and Twitter at the forefront of applications makes sense," said James Sherwood, mobile expert at

Avoiding the expense of buying a handset such as an Apple iPhone, but still providing easy access to the internet may make the handset popular with teenagers and children.
