LG has announced that it will be rolling out its LG Optimus Vu mobile phone in the UK from next month.
Initially announced at the Mobile World Congress in February, the LG Optimus Vu is the largest smartphone to date at five inches but it has only been available in South Korea and Japan.
However, the success of the smartphone in these two countries has led LG to announce that it will be available in other regions soon.
Indeed, from September the device will be rolled out slowly in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Since its February launch, the smartphone has received an upgrade from Google Android's 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, to the newer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
"The different form factor makes Optimus Vu: unique even in the five-inch smartphone category which we expect will catch on once they become more widely available," president and chief executive officer of LG Dr Jong-seok Park commented.
