LG has been selected for four awards as part of the annual European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) honours, it has emerged.

The group chose the South Korean manufacturer as its winner in the Green Mobile Phone 2009/2010 category for the selected the LG KM900 Arena, which was launched earlier this year.

Consumers recycling used mobiles to fund a new multimedia-focused device may be interested to hear the model is equipped with a three-inch touchscreen, five-megapixel camera and Dolby Mobile audio.

However, it was not just the high-specification feature set that impressed the judges, as environmental credentials and style were noted among its best traits.

"LG’s KM900 … is not only striking in appearance but is also the greenest fully-featured mobile phone on the market today," EISA said. "Beauty and intelligence combine in the Arena to produce a genuinely green mobile phone."

The firm also took honours in the Best Value LCD TV, Best Value Blu-Ray Player and Best home theatre sections.

LG’s KM900 Arena made its debut at the 2009 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
