New reports indicate that LG's upcoming mobile phone will be dust and waterproof, much like a number of its rivals.

According to Korean site ETNews, which has spoken to an unknown source, the LG G3 will adopt the same technology that is already seen in the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2.

The LG G3 is expected to surface at some point during this year, but other information is pretty thin on the ground, suggesting that a product launch could be some way off yet. However, the company could see itself miss out if it doesn't release the smartphone soon as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 have already been revealed.

HTC will also be adding its own offering with a special event planned for March 25th, in which it is expected that the company will reveal the handset that will succeed the One.

It could be that consumers will have already picked up one of these three flagship devices, before LG has the chance to unveil its own.
