LG's latest mobile phone could arrive in just a few months, if recent rumours are to be believed.

According to the Korean site asiae.co.kr, "industry sources" have said that the handset will be arriving in May, which is significantly earlier in the year than its predecessor. The LG G2 arrived in September 2013, sparking much speculation that its upgrade would follow suit.

These latest rumours have led people to assume that LG is playing business tactics and releasing the G3 ahead of time to sidestep the Samsung Galaxy S5.

However, Samsung's next flagship device is said to be arriving in March this year, making its release a good couple of months ahead of the LG G3.

The source also told the Korean website that the Optimus G Pro 2 will launch in February, well ahead of the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

However, until there is official word from any of the key companies, rumours can be hard to believe.
