The LG Chocolate BL40 has been unveiled this week and is just one of the latest phones to be announced by the manufacturer.

It was revealed the most recent entry in the South Korean firm’s Black Label Series would be equipped with a new four-inch screen that uses a 21:9 aspect ratio.

This is the same format that is used for most commercial DVD and Blu-ray releases – and for those with multimedia in mind the list of features does not stop there.

LG has fitted the BL40 with 7.2 HSDPA support and a Dual Screen user interface.

John Barton, sales and marketing director of LG Mobile in the UK and Ireland, said: “Like its predecessor, we are confident that the new Chocolate will create its own legacy and further enhance our standing in the market.”

This week also saw the company launch three new smartphones, all of which use Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, while Vodafone revealed it would be the first network to offer the LG GM750 in October.
