A number of consumers may today (March 3rd) be considering the possibility of trading in their mobile in order to switch to the Apple iPad 2, which was launched last night.
US manufacturer Apple has confirmed the model will become a reality, offering people a brand new tablet option.
The iPad 2 is said to feature a revolutionary design that is 33 per cent thinner than the original version, as well as 15 per cent lighter.
"While others have been scrambling to copy the first generation iPad, we're launching iPad 2, which moves the bar far ahead of the competition," said Steve Jobs, chief executive officer at Apple.
It also includes two cameras, one of which has the ability to capture videos, as well as a powerful battery with up to ten hours' life.
The original Apple iPad was released by the firm last April and is the world's most popular tablet.
