Nokia has hit the headlines this week after confirming its latest operating system upgrade in the form of the new Symbian Anna.

The platform is set to make it even easier to enjoy the technology on offer from the Finnish brand, including its apps, games and web browsing facilities.

Other benefits of Symbian Anna include the provision of a qwerty keyboard and split-screen messaging, both of which could improve usability significantly.

But it is Londoners who have one of the company’s advantages all to themselves – its range of transport apps.

Nokia Conversations has detailed some of the top apps that help people navigate the capital on a daily basis, such as the self-explanatory Tube Map.

Also to meet with approval are the Virgin Trains tool and VirginTrains Tickets, both of which help to make it simple to use the company’s intercity links.

Railteam Mobile is another favourite of the official blog, as it offers full timetables, fares and information about train services.
