Many of us have had an inclination that Apple would be including some sort of fingerprint technology in its future mobile phones. However, the latest version of beta code for its iOS 7 software provides further support.

With the release of the most recent operating system code, developers have had time to go delving into the software to discover what Apple may have in store for users in its future iPhones.

Along with various updates and fixes, there was a folder called "BiometricKitUI", which suggests that there is code able to recognise a user through a sensor embedded into the home button.

Although the code doesn't suggest when this technology will come into iPhones, it does indicate that the various patents that have been leaked will be coming to fruition sooner rather than later.
