Facebook has sent out a mysterious invitation to press in the US, urging journalists to 'Come and see what we're building'.

This occurrence has sparked rumours that the organisation is readying a launch of its own mobile phone.

Previous mobile phones like the HTC ChaCha and Salsa have dedicated Facebook buttons, so there is speculation that the Taiwanese manufacturer will be building the handset.

Consumers might expect added social networking integration, such as the ability to upload photographs to their page easily and update their status at the click of a button.

The event is set to take place on January 15th at 10:00 PT (18:00 GMT), so consumers do not have to wait long to find out whether rumours are true.

Users with Apple iPhone devices and Android smartphones are able to utilise the social networking website more easily through the associated app.

Members can even set up a service which allows them to update their status by sending a text message from their mobile.
