Those recycling mobile phones for a low cost messaging device may be interested in the latest announcement from 3 Mobile.

It was announced by the network today (September 8th) that it would make its social networking-friendly INQ Mini 3G available from early next month.

According to 3 Mobile the handset will come fully-equipped with a new application that will provide fast and easy access to the Twitter micro-blogging service.

In addition, the carrier explained that the slimline INQ Mini 3G would also be featured free on its £15 monthly Internet Texter plan – which offers free same operator calls, voicemail and web, as well as 75 minutes of cross-network access.

Pay-as-you-go customers can pick up the device for £59.99, and whether those recycling mobile phones take this option or decide to go for the contract, they will enjoy complimentary Skype-to-Skype calling and Windows Live Messenger.

Charlotte Blanchard, director of products and services for 3 Mobile, said the goal of the tariff was to "offer consumers the best mobile internet experience – and INQ’s new products are a key part of that".

Famous Twitter users include Hollywood director Kevin Smith, who this week held a 24-hour Tweet marathon answering fans questions.
