Details have been leaked that mobile phone company Huawei may be working on a new handset to rival the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Huawei is planning a quad-core device estimated to launch in April, according to Chinese website mobile163.
Although the device is yet to be named, it is rumoured that it will sport a 4.9-inch HD display, 2GV of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera and a 2,600 mAh battery alongside its 1.8GHz quad-core processor.
The site also states that the handset will be just 6.3mm thick, which forces the question of exactly how heavy the device will be, with the company having to fit the workings into such a small space.
It remains unclear why the Chinese company would choose to release another device when it already has two quad-core smartphones set to hit the market this year. The Ascend D2 was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show back in January and the Ascend P2 at the Mobile World Congress in February.
However, if this new product can hit the shelves soon and be marketed cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S4 it may stand a solid chance of undermining its rival.
