Huawei may be out-sizing others in the phablet market by releasing the Ascend Mate with a 6.1-inch screen.

More gadget manufacturers are releasing these hybrid devices which incorporate the features of a smartphone with the larger screen of a tablet computer.

One of the most popular in the UK is the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which has a 5.55-inch screen. LG recently unveiled its Vu 2 which has a five-inch display in an unusual 4:3 aspect ratio.

Rumours suggest the Huawei device will have a significantly larger 1080p display, and it seems as though the gadget will have higher specifications too.

It may have a quad-core 1.8 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. If so, it could be the most powerful smartphone on the market, providing users with unparalleled speedy performance.

There may also be an impressive 4,000 mAh battery which will ensure owners can use their device for hours without having to recharge.
