HTC has announced that owners of the Developer Edition of its popular One mobile phone won’t be receiving the Android 4.2.2 update, but will instead get Android 4.3 soon.

Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales at HTC, told all HTC One Developer Edition owners that they will be able to get their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

However, there was no confirmation on when exactly they will be able to download the update other than “soon”.

Giving the reason why this group of users would miss out on the software update that every other HTC One owner received, he tweeted: “We definitely care and want you to have a great experience. [4.]2.2 is minor update so decided to go straight to 4.3.”

However, it still means that Developer Edition owners are missing out on features like the Photosphere, Daydream screensavers, Swype-like gesture typing and multiple user profiles.

It’s thought that these, and other new editions, will make it to the Android 4.3 download.
