The HTC Smart is already said to offer smartphone functionality at an affordable price, but if you trade in your mobile you could help offset the upgrade cost even further.

When you trade in your mobile, you can keep any personal parts – such as the memory card, or a replacement charger if you’ve bought one – and just need to send in the handset and its battery.

For O2 users, the April launch date of the HTC Smart exclusively on the network could prove the ideal time to do so.

HTC chief executive officer Peter Chou says: “More and more people are craving advanced mobile phone experiences.”

Among the ‘craved’ functionality are web browsing, social networking and email handling capabilities.

“The HTC Smart introduces this functionality in an intuitive phone that is affordable,” Mr Chou adds.

Following its April launch date, the HTC Smart is due to be available exclusively on O2 in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
