Although it appears there are plenty of indications that HTC is planning a super-sized version of its HTC One mobile phone, observations that the HTC One Max may just be around the corner have been dashed by the Taiwanese firm.

The notorious leaker @evleaks has posted a photo of a device claiming to be the HTC One's big brother. However, the tipster didn't have any other details to give other than a description of the handset indicating it was the HTC T6.

Other than the obvious increased size, the device details a relocated flash and a few other small changes.

However, Jeff Gordon, HTC's senior global online communications manager, posted a comment on Engadget claiming it was a fake, saying that @evleaks is "way off his game".

Although people on the site were less than willing to believe his words.

It is thought that the HTC One Max or T6 will be debuted as part of the IFA 2013 event at the start of September.
