Mobile phone maker HTC is set to give away an 18-carat gold version of its flagship HTC One device.

The company has teamed up with O2, adding golden tickets to the packaging of the smartphone, which will be given to customers buying the devices before the end of trading on Sunday.

Each one will contain a code that can be entered online to win the device, which is worth $4,424.

It is one of only five of the 18-carat gold models manufactured by the Taiwanese firm for the UK, making it the most exclusive device made by the firm, as well as the most expensive.

The lucky winner will also get tickets to the MOBO tour at The O2 on November 14th where the phone will be presented to them by a MOBO artist.

HTC has been garnering a great deal of interest in recent days, as it is rumoured to be partnering with Amazon to launch three devices into the smartphone market.
