As it appears Google is turning its back on the Nexus 4, a mobile phone claiming to be its successor has been spotted in a bar.

According to 9to5Google which got its hands on some photos and a video of the device, a Google employee left the device plugged in and charging unsupervised, and someone working behind the bar seized the opportunity.

The bartender took some photos of the smartphone and shot a video which suggest that the handset may be running the unreleased Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Not much else can be determined from this leak but, if the Nexus 4 is anything to go by, the Nexus 5 will carry a stripped down version of Android.

Reports have also emerged that the Nexus 4 has completely sold out in the US and Google isn't looking to bring in anymore stock. This indicates that a unveiling and release of the Nexus 5 may not be that far away.
