We’ve already seen the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition and the HTC One Google Edition, but we may be seeing search engine company’s twist on another mobile phone before the year is out.

The firm has reportedly teamed up with Sony to compile a special version of its Xperia Z handset, according to an anonymous insider from Sony. Although the tipster was unable to pin-down an official release date, they said the smartphone would be announced in July.

Sony has always given consumers the option to install a stock-version of Android on the handset, but the firm may have thought this was causing too much hassle and so have teamed up with Google to make it standard.

The Sony Xperia Z Google Edition will probably have all the same features and specifications as the original, but with a pre-loaded version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, unless Google releases Android 4.3 Jelly Bean by the time the handset arrives.
