Festival-goers preparing to attend this year’s Glastonbury event may find trading in their mobiles and upgrading to an iPhone or Android device is a worthwhile move.

Orange has released the official app of the festival, featuring all the information guests require to ensure their stay at the Somerset venue is an enjoyable one.

It includes details on the site, an interactive map, a customisable line-up and will be updated with live news throughout the event.

There is even a competition attached to the app where some of the last remaining tickets for Glastonbury 2011 are up for grabs.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis said: “With the sheer size of the festival, providing up-to-the-minute important news and information like changes to set times is always difficult [but] this year we’ll be able to communicate directly via the app.”

The line-up for this year’s Glastonbury Festival includes the likes of Coldplay, U2 and Beyonce.
