People patiently waiting to recycle their mobile phones to get their hands on the new Galaxy SIII handset will have to wait until June – when it is finally launched.

It was anticipated that the that the Galaxy SIII would be unveiled at this month’s Mobile World Congress 2012 but the company has stated that it will launch the device later in the year.

Samsung slight rep is still expected to announce updates to its popular tablet range at the Mobile World Congress with revisions to the Galaxy Tab likely to see an improvement in screen size and resolution.

“The successor to the Galaxy SII smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product,” a statement from the company read.

The Korean giant announced last month that its new smartphone – the Galaxy S Advance – would be rolled out this month in Russia before heading to other countries around the world.
