Individuals who would like to buy a smartphone may like to consider selling their old mobiles so they can purchase a BlackBerry Torch.

The handset comes with BlackBerry 6 technology and is the first smartphone to feature a touch screen and a traditional qwerty keyboard for those who like to send emails and text messages.

President and co-chief executive officer of BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion Mike Lazaridis remarked the new handset design, interface and browser “delivers integrated and uncompromising capabilities for consumers and business professionals”.

The handset also has a five-megapixel camera with zero shutter technology, which means users do not have to wait for a shot to be captured.

People will be able to browse the internet using its pinch to zoom tool and optical trackpad, as well as access multiple sites simultaneously.

BlackBerry makes a number of handsets that may appeal to those selling old mobile phones, including the Bold, Curve and Pearl.
