A new handset from LG will be unveiled at the CTIA Wireless event in Las Vegas this week, it has emerged.

The South Korean electronics manufacturer has announced it will showcase an innovative new device at the exhibition called the LG-GD900 – which boasts the world’s first transparent keypad.

It is hoped that when the show takes place later this week visitors to the LG stand will be impressed with the model – which could also move many to consider mobile phone recycling ahead of its official launch.

As well as a three-inch touch-sensitive screen, the device is equipped with Haptic feedback, Multi Touch zoom control technology, Gesture Shortcut – which allows for a more tailored user experience and a Touch Wheel for multimedia playback.

LG’s head of marketing Jeremy Newing commented: "The LG-GD900 combines style and functionality reaffirming LG’s innovative approach to product design that continues to surpass consumer expectations."

The latest phone follows the release of the company’s Arena – which is available on T Mobile in an exclusive Titan Black edition.
