Galaxy S3 fans may find themselves without a phone if they have already traded in their old handset.

According to reports, Samsung, the new phone’s manufacturer, is facing issues with some models of its latest smartphone – issues that could lead to delivery delays.

Vodafone, which is offering the new S3, has warned customers that there could be “shipping delays” for the 32GB version of the handset.

The Korean manufacturer said: “Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyperglaze material.”

As a result, a “short supply of [the] Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions”, the firm noted.

Other mobile phone operators in the UK – including O2, Everything Everywhere and Three – highlighted potential supply problems for their customers.

The S3 has already resulted in a boost in the number of people trading in their old mobile phone handsets, according to eBay.
