Users of mobiles have the option of selling their used phones and putting the cash towards a special device launched by Three.

The network has confirmed the Huawei E586 MiFi will soon be coming to the company and is the first mobile Wi-Fi gadget available in the UK.

Featuring next-generation technology such as HSPA+ mobile broadband, the handset will ensure quick and easy connectivity to the web.

Three has suggested those who acquire one of the models will find internet speeds are initially about 40 per cent faster than existing MiFi options and that figure will grow as progress on the solution is made.

"Aside from this step up in speed, the new cradle charger, which looks great, will help people get the best performance in the home," added Three's head of mobile broadband David Kerrigan.

The network recently launched a campaign to promote the benefits of smartphones to mothers, noting they could complete some of their daily tasks on the net.
