Consumers who want to make use of the new Sky Go app may be interested in selling their mobile phone and purchasing an iPhone, after the program was added to the Apple App Store.

According to reports, the application means users can watch and record Sky television on the handset no matter where they are, as well as pause and rewind live broadcasts.

The app is only available to Sky TV subscribers, but offers people the chance to tune in to Sky Sports and Sky News, with more channels to come to the service in the near future.

Cnet UK states that other Sky apps that iPhone owners can take advantage of include the Sky News, Sky+ Remote and Football Score Centre apps.

A similar offering has recently been made available for Virgin Media customers, with the TV Guide app allowing them to arrange recordings, view listings and find out more information about upcoming shows from their handsets.
