Apple fans who have queued up outside stores in the UK for days will finally get hold of the much-anticipated iPhone 5.

The mobile phone is available in Apple shops today, with Brits getting their hands on the gadget from 08:00.

Many people have queued up outside the retail establishments for hours or even days to ensure they are one of the first to buy the smartphone.

The products are renowned for generating lots of hype, with competing manufacturer Samsung even mocking those who wait in lines in its advertisements.

Those who were quick to pre-order on the website should also be receiving precious parcels through their doors today.

Apple sold over two million devices worldwide within 24 hours of allowing pre-orders on September 14th.

Now that the online Apple Store will not be dispatching iPhone 5s for three to four weeks, lots of buyers will also be looking to sell their handsets to aspirant owners for a quick profit.
