Keeping in touch with what is going on in the world could be one reason why people decide to sell their old mobile phone in order to upgrade.

The Sun has said the current media storm surrounding the general election can be closely watched via the new Twitter app for the BlackBerry.

According to the newspaper, it was “very impressed” with the official app during testing and it looks like the feature can match its Facebook counterpart.

While TwitterBerry, UberTwitter and SocialScope have proved useful, an official app is always welcomed.

“It’s free to download [from BlackBerry App World] and also allows you to change the size and style of fonts, edit your profile and it supports Twitter Lists,” the tabloid explained.

BlackBerry users can enjoy direct messages sent to their inbox, while images taken on the camera can be easily uploaded.

The top free items listed by the official app store are Twitter, Pandora, a thesaurus and dictionary and BlackBerry Messenger.
