Consumers about to sell mobilephones for a touchscreen device may have to think twice about the handset they have decided upon.

This is because after much speculation, this week saw Research In Motion (RIM) announce its latest addition to its range – the BlackBerry Storm2.

As the second fully touchscreen model in its line-up, the company explained that the new gadget would build on the success of its predecessor, while incorporating new technology like SurePress.

"The new system responds equally to gentle pressure applied anywhere on the surface of the screen and makes clicking the display practically effortless," RIM said.

In the UK, Vodafone customers will be the first to get the chance to buy the Storm2 when it goes on sale before Christmas.

However, with the new Palm Pre hitting O2 today (October 16th) there are now even more smartphone options available to those recycling mobiles for cash.
